Discovering Oxford #2: Arcadia

Arcadia will satisfy your vintage thirst with a shop filled with books and stationery displaying the most beautiful covers and packagings I have ever seen. Entering this treasure trove feels like stepping in a hidden world, where fairies and elves enjoy magical lives. Tucked away in St Michael Street, Arcadia is worth a visit and would be a perfect addition to an Oxford-based bookshop crawl - keep your eyes open for a post about that soon. As many locations in Oxford, Christmas time feels even more magical for this little shop. Alongside Christmas decorations, you will also find unique stationary and cards, as well as vintage books, and beautiful home pieces. Although the shop is rather small, they often have outdoor displays for customers to flick through, bringing a vintage car-boot sale feeling to the experience. The staff has always been very welcoming and helpful, making sure that no customer ever leaves empty handed. I have also been told of a great tip, they apparently offer £1 rolls of wrapping paper ends which would make your gifts even more special. For book lovers, Arcadia always has a large selection of orange Penguin classics. Nearby cafés will be a nice way to end your vintage treasure hunt as you enjoy your favourite drink whilst going through your precious purchases.

Thank you to my publishing friend Federica (The Travelling Book on Instagram) for introducing me to Arcadia.
