Discovering Oxford #1: Scriptum

Scriptum is a relatively recent discovery of mine. This quirky and eclectic fine stationery shop is nestled in the narrow and old-fashion Turl Street, by the Radcliffe Camera, and represents Oxford ever so perfectly. All my senses always are exacerbated when stepping inside the shop: sight with a multitude of colours and fine window displays, the smell of leather, a divine Italian opera soundtrack playing in the background and the perfect softness of diaries and feathers. My taste is yet to be tormented in this unique atmosphere, perhaps with Italian beverages or delicacies? I have always felt serene and at home in this wonderful treasure trove, because of the overall ambiance, but foremost, thanks to the kindness of every member of staff. Their pride of the hand-written word is visible, and we certainly all need a reminder that correspondences with our loved ones should never be forgotten after a simple swipe or scroll.
